The "Family" in Family Photography
Photographing images of people's lives is often an intimate thing. Sometimes you go into their homes, sometimes you are there to document important milestones, sometimes you are there just to freeze moments in time.
Many of my clients are friends or acquaintances, but as the business grows I get more clients I don't have personal connections to. What I didn't expect is that when you do multiple shoots with families you don't know "in real life", you start to feel like you know them personally.
Such is the case with the family I am writing about today. I did their family holiday photos last year in a park. This time, we decided on the beach. It was fun to see them again and try out a new setting, but it was especially fun seeing how their two daughters had grown. Working with them again made me realize how unique work as a photographer can be, and I am grateful that I get to be a small part other people's families, every now and then.
Take a look at some of my favorite images from this beautiful beach session.
And then...can we talk about how adorable these girls are?
